It is a Hurricane Baby

My ex-step-daughter who was due in two weeks and lives in a "sub" of Beumount, TX had to evacuate for Gustav. Her mom lives in Tyler, so there she went and when she got there had to go immediately to the hospital where she had a beautiful baby boy 5lbs and 6 oz, they named him Camdyn. So she'll always have the ultimate hurricane story!

Glad she didn't name him Gustav. LOL Congrats to the family. And how are you? Did you get any rain or wind from Gustav?

Did you have a wonderful time on your little mini-trip?

Sorry about that I thought you said you did go on another vacation, but you actually said you possibly need another vacation. I guess you didn't go anywhere over Labor Day then?

I used to live in San Antonio and we would visit Austin sometimes as well as Corpus Christi (Mustang Island). I love Texas! We lived right at the beginning of the hill country, a few miles north of the city. I loved to visit Shertz and Gruene and Schlitterbahn's. We always made a point of going to the drive-thru safari and our little red corolla almost got smashed by an angry buffalo. I have some lovely photos of the zebra all around the SUV when we went back for vacation several years ago. I can't seem to get enough of Texas. Wish I still lived there.

I know you are excited about your upcoming October trip to Austin. Congrats.

Sorry you had to work and be on call cause I thought you were off for a couple of days. I guess that's what it means to be a competent, in high-demand, nurse.

One of my good friends had her daughter in during a hurricane evacuation (Hurricane George, I believe).... I've heard that pregnant women tend to have their babies early because of the pressure caused by the hurricane? Maybe it's the stress...
